Job Description

• This position is part of the clients team that is responsible for handling Application Support activities.
• The candidate will play a major role in managing incidents, service requests, and Application Support tasks in shift and on‑call rotations.
• This team member will also contribute to service‑improvement initiatives and participate in the bank’s DR / Live Play support activities.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of core banking operations, solid troubleshooting skills, and experience with L1/L2 support in a banking environment, with expertise in Linux, PL‑SQL, Dynatrace, Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Application Support & Operations

• Provide production support for applications and tools.
• Analyze system, middleware, and application logs to identify potential issues.
• Perform service monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement of service quality and availability.
• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployments.
• Assist and train other operations profiles in Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Direct Responsibilities

Escalate risks, critical incidents, and management matters to the divisional lead in a timely manner.

• Adhere to SLA targets for incidents and service requests.
• Review and create Application Support knowledge articles.
• Participate in 24/7 production support (shifts, on‑call, weekends, public holidays).
• Support and participate in the bank’s DR / Live Play activities.
• Participate in and validate knowledge‑transfer sessions conducted by development teams for application changes.

Contributing Responsibilities

Risk Mitigation: enforce production‑readiness checks, robust monitoring, and strict compliance to reduce operational and regulatory risk.

• Customer Confidence: ensure high‑availability services and transparent communication with Wealth Management business stakeholders.
• Operational Efficiency: reduce MTTD and MTTR through automation, continuous improvement, and effective knowledge transfer.
• Team Collaboration: work closely with development teams and global APS teams to maintain a stable production platform.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Linux, CLI, and shell scripting.

• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python and/or Bash preferred).
• Good understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins, Travis, Concourse).
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with public cloud environments: IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.

• 5+ years of experience in IT Operations or Software Engineering.
• At least 2+ years of hands‑on experience with a cloud provider (IBM/AWS/Azure/Google).
• At least 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Ansible/Docker.
• Relevant certifications:
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294)
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Developing Advanced Automation with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (DO374)
• Optional: HashiCorp Terraform Associate (003)
• Optional: HashiCorp Vault Associate (002)
